Sue Peters Thompson

Sylacauga, AL - Sue Peters Thompson, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018, at Coosa Valley Medical Center TCU. She was born in Alexander City, Alabama to O. L. (Luke) Peters and Agnes Crawford Peters.

The family moved to Bemiston, Alabama, when Sue was eleven years old. She grew up in Bemiston and graduated from Talladega High School in 1948. Sue's first job was with Bemis Bag Company as a secretary. She later went to work at Kimberly Clark Corporation, Coosa Pines Plant. Sue's career path, as an Executive Secretary, took her to General Electric Corporation in Huntsville, Alabama; Honeywell Corporation, in Virginia; back to Kimberley Clark in Childersburg; and Roswell, Georgia until retirement.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.L. (Luke) Peters of Talladega, Alabama. Sue is survived by her sister, Glenda Peters Styers and brother-in-law, Raymond C. Styers, of Sylacauga; niece, Debbie S. Cleveland, of Alexander City; niece, Beth Styers of Auburn; and two great-nephews, Casey Cleveland and Clay Cleveland, of Auburn, Alabama.

Sue always put her God and family first over anything in her long, healthy, and productive life. She was a member of Marble City Baptist Church of Sylacauga.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Coosa Valley Medical Center TCU and Coosa Valley Hospice for their love, support, and dedication to Sue's Care.

A private family service will be at the Alexander City Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to the Coosa Valley Medical Center Auxiliary, where Sue was a volunteer "Pink Lady" for 20 years. Also, memorials can be made to the Sylacauga Animal Rescue Foundation at 41 Shelter Lane, Sylacauga, Alabama, 35150.
