Julia Catherine McDonald
Alexander City, AL - Funeral service for Julia Catherine McDonald, 98, will be Friday, February 17, 2012 at 11:00 am at Sears Chapel with Mary Quillin officiating. Burial will be at Sears Chapel in Rockford, AL. Miss McDonald will lie in state at the church one hour prior to her service.
Ms. McDonald died Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Chapman Assisted Living in Alexander City, AL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kate McEwen and George Bulger McDonald of Rockford and brothers, John T. and George W. McDonald of Rockford. She taught Home Economics at Milltown and Goodwater, Alabama. She worked five years with the Farm Security Administration in Hartselle and Hayneville, Alabama. She retired from the Coosa County Pension and Security in Rockford, Alabama after 30 years of service.
She is survived by her nephews, J.T. McDonald, wife Cathy of Rockford, Britt McDonald of Rockford and Warren McDonald, wife Amy of Albertville, AL and niece, Kathy Long, husband Billy of Loxley, AL.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contribution be made to the Rockford United Methodist Church or Sears Chapel Cemetery Fund C/O Ruth Teel, 11505 US Hwy 231, Rockford, AL 35136.
