Lora Jean Garrett

Sylacauga, AL – Funeral service for Mrs. Lora Jean Garrett, 77, will be Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Radney-Smith Chapel with William Garrett officiating.  Burial will follow in Harpersville Cemetery in Harpersville, AL.

Mrs. Garrett died Friday, April 27, 2012 at her residence in Chesterfield, VA.

She is survived by her husband, Herman Alpha Garrett, Sr.; her son, Herman Alpha Garrett, Jr. and his wife Mackenzie; 2 grandchildren, Evan and Liam Garrett; sister, Monta S. Bradshaw; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 1, 2012 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Herman, we remember Jean as a lovely person to be around, and we are sorry to hear of your loss. We will continue to pray for you and Alpha as you face this moment in time. We will keep all of the family in our prayers.

Dear Family,
The grief that is felt when we lose a loved one may seem unbearable. At such times, we can go to God's word for comfort. God too feels hurt when an individual dies. That is why the encouragement found at Revelation 21:4 assure us that "He will remove sorrow and death will be no more." According to this scripture, there will come a time when those we have lost in death will be brought back by means of a resurrection by the Almighty God. May the family find the comfort that God makes available to all persons.
