Otis Lee Gallman, Sr.

Sylacauga, AL - Funeral service for Otis Lee Gallman, Sr., 80, will be Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 11:00 am at Radney-Smith Chapel with  Rev. Jason  Gravette officiating.  Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL.

Mr. Gallman died Sunday, February 19, 2012 at his residence. He was preceded in death by son, Otis Lee Gallman Jr., parents William Harvey  and Lucille Gallman, brother, J.I Gallman, sisters, Eunice Gallman Bassett, Myrtice Weathers, Betty Lou Caine and Linda Weathers.  He was a deacon emeritus and former Minister of Music at Hollins Baptist Church.  He was a great man of faith.  He was retired from Avondale Mills after 46 years of service.  He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army.  Mr. Gallman was an active member of the Maxye Veazey Senior Center and Travel Club.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Betty Grice Gallman, daughter, Sherry Gallman Vickers, husband Jackie; sons, Ricky Gallman of Marietta, GA and Scott Gallman, wife Barbara of Sylacauga; brother, Curt Gallman of Talladega; sisters, Sammie Sue Franklin and Bessie Gallman Bivin both of Sylacauga; grandchildren, Brannon Vickers, wife Kendra, Brandi Vickers, Kara Smith, husband Jeremy and Michele Gallman Watson, husband Alan; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Smith and Logan Smith; and his dog Penny.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 21, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Pallbearers will be Brannon Vickers, Alan Watson, Terry Gallman, Wendell Weathers, Kevin Webb and Adam Alexander.  Honorary pallbearers will be Pete Lang, Edward Price, Jim Armstrong, Terry Grice, Tommy Hayes, David Kane, Jeff Price, Jimmy Grice and Seniors at the Maxye Veazey Senior Center.

The family will accept flowers or contributions may be made to Hollins Baptist Church, P.O. Box 54, Hollins, AL  35082 or Lakeside Hospice, P.O. Box 544, Pell City, AL 35125.

WE ARE SO VERY SORRY FOR OUR LOSS OF SUCH A DEAR MAN WE LOVE UNCLE OTIS VERY MUCH DIDNT GET TO SEE HIM VERY MUCH , HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED. WE ARE PRAYING FOR THE FAMILY MAY GOD BLESS AND COMFORT THE FAMILY. JUST MADE HEAVEN A LITTLE SWEETER.

Otis was a wonderful man that always had a smile on his face. The world will not be the same without him. I was so saddened by his passing. My heart goes out to his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be so very missed and forever loved.
