William Burnas Ward
Sylacauga, AL - Funeral service for William Burnas Ward, 95, will be Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with Rev. Tommy Strickland and Rev. Bill Percy officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL.
Mr. Ward died Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Sylacauga Health Care. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Christine Ward; parents, William Walter and Berta Wise Ward; brothers, Louie Ward, L.W. Ward, Fay Ward, Mason Ward, Fuzzy Ward and Jack Ward; sisters, Gertie Jones and Ruth Bulger. Mr. Ward was retired from Kimberly-Clark Corp. as a pipe fitter and welder. He was a deacon of Five Points Baptist Church. He was honorably discharged from the US Navy and a WWII Veteran.
He is survived by his daughter, Nina Lambert of Sylacauga; son, Harold Ward of Sylacauga; sister, June Swint, husband Clyde of Siloam Springs, AR; grandchildren, Larry Lambert, wife Joy of Sylacauga, Tracy Carr, husband Bruce of Sylacauga and Jonathan Ward, wife Kristy of Birmingham, AL; great-grandchildren, Ward Lambert, Carly Lambert, Brantley Carr, Brooke Carr and Sophia Ward; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, March 23, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Ward Lambert, Brantley Carr, Jonathan Ward, Drew Ward, Jimmy Ward and Larry Ezekiel.
