Sylacauga, AL - Funeral service for Mr. Van C. Penton, Sr., 92, will be Friday, May 18, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Sylacauga, Alabama.
Mr. Penton died Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Sylacauga Health and Rehab. He is preceded in death by his daughter Beverly Taylor, sister Annie Lee Glenn, and brother Victor Collins Penton.
He is survived by his wife, Martella Penton of Sylacauga, daughter, Glenda Hanna of Sylacauga; sons, Van Penton Jr., wife Marlene, of Sylacauga, and Danny Penton, wife Vanessa of Walhalla, South Carolina; brothers, Joe Penton of Prattville and Erskin Penton of Sylacauga; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and retired from the Sylacauga Utilities Board.
Visitation will be prior to the service Friday, May 18, 2012 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.

I am so sorry about Mr. Penton''s passing. I pray for the family that they get through this knowing they will see him again one day. It is never easy. I pray Mrs. Penton is doing OK. Linda Lewis
